Renée Preston to discuss workforce stability at UK Construction Week London

Renée Preston will discuss the National Site Standard at UK Construction Week London on 14 May 2026.

The session will examine the relationship between working conditions, workforce culture and construction’s continuing challenge of attracting and retaining skilled people.

Recruitment is an essential part of addressing the industry’s skills needs, but it is only one part of the picture. People are more likely to build long-term careers in environments where they are properly equipped, treated professionally and supported when concerns arise.

The National Site Standard provides a practical framework for organisations that want to address those conditions consistently.

During the session, Renée will explore how welfare provision, PPE, workplace behaviour, reporting procedures, training and leadership influence the everyday experience of the construction workforce. She will also discuss how defined standards and independent assessment can help organisations turn commitments into evidence.
